2016 L'Aietta Brunello di Montalcino
Other Reviews....
Forest berry, truffle, botanical herb and new leather aromas shape the nose on this radiant, elegant red along with a whiff of cedar. The youthfully austere, vibrant palate offers juicy sour cherry, wild strawberry, cinnamon and star anise alongside taut, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. Still young and primary at this point, it needs time to fully develop but shows great aging potential. Drink 2026–2036.

Frisky, fresh style of Brunello here. Strawberry, suede leather, a spicy balsamic edge, tobacco and herbs. It’s medium-bodied, cherry, strawberry, and liquorice root flavours with a slightly sour blood orange tang to offset, tannin has a chalkiness and subtle grip, finish is long and carries a little smokiness and crisp feel. Stylish. Should age very well.
