2016 Peter Lehmann VSV 1885 Shiraz

Sourced from a 4 acre block planted in 1885 with maturation taking place in French oak hogsheads for 12 months. Inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents sail out of the glass trailed by smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and spice notes. Rich and silky in its feel the full bodied palate is awash with plush blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruit which sits atop a back drop of smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, light scorched earth and spicy pepper. Exceptionally smooth tannins lend polish and class to a long sumptuous aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
