2016 Quarisa Johnny Q Cabernet Sauvignon

Dense black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Lifted ripe blackcurrant aromas mix with hints of liquorice, cedary tobacco characters and bay leaf. Medium to full in body, rich blackcurrant fruits show good flesh over a back drop of cedary tobacco characters, black olive and infusions of bay leaf. Fine grained tannins provide ample structure. Lengthy aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant laced with bay leaf and tobacco characters.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

Other Reviews….
A wine that is as striking for its piercing currant flavours as it for its comparative restraint, at least in contrast to other wines in the stable. Olive and bay leaf-doused tannins finish it all off nicely, highly varietal and rewarding. Drink by 2023.
