2016 Terre 'a Terre Crayeres Vineyard Reserve

A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Shiraz and 16% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak (84% new) for 11 months and then in a 5 year old foudre for 17 months. Deep black dark red core with a dark red hue. Intense red and black currant aromas have a vanillin cedar edge with notions of mulberry, fresh herbs, dusty earth and spice also evident. Quite full in body the palate is decorated with rich blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which are backed by a firm, sturdy tannin structure. Elements of vanillin cedar, dusty tobacco, dried herbs and spice sit underneath. Finishes with good freshness and a long, rich yet robust aftertaste.
