Sourced from the first single malt distillery in Glasgow for over a century, this contemporary Lowlander could pass as a Highlander from yesteryear. Walnut brownies, leather, Christmas pudding and a wisp of struck match make up a dryish profile from a very active PX cask. Medjool dates and sweet spices confirm the quality of wine input. Happily, the sugars have been controlled. Everything falls in balance proving long maturations aren't essential in Scotland. Takes you back to 1990s Glengoynes! 323 bottles from a sweet sherry hogshead. 57.2% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. Very limited stocks.

Notes from the bottlers... NOSE: Rich stewed fruit. Dark chocolate covered raisins. Heavy Sherry notes. PALATE: A mix of honey glaze, rich fruits, heavy Sherry and sweet oak. FINISH: Long, sweet finish with rich fruits and oak in the aftertaste.
