2017 David Duband Gevrey Chambertin
David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy! He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis.
Other Reviews....
Generous wood and menthol characters surround the earthy plum and red currant scents. There is a completely different texture to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess better depth but there is a hint of backend dryness that brings the finish up short.

Barrel sample. 80% in Brochon.
Light to mid cherry red. A little darker and a touch smoky, more peppery darker fruit. Elegantly aromatic. Very fine grip, juicy and yet dry in the texture. Classic Gevrey in a light, elegant mode.
