Bright straw yellow gold colour with a pale straw hue. Aromas of peach, honeycomb and lemon butter overlay notions of crème brulee and spicy butterscotch. Medium bodied with an oily like feel yet bright underlying acidity, the palate is subtlety flavoured with nectarine and honeycomb which are underpinned by notions of lemon butter and roasted almond. Finishes dry with an elegant, slightly oily medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews…
From estate block Q1, planted to the Bernard/Dijon clone 96, wild-fermented, including mlf, matured for 18 months in French oak (30% new). The mlf (said to precede the alcoholic fermentation, which is impossible) has worked well, giving the wine elegance and balance. Melon, nectarine, crushed almond and fig banish citrus from the flavour spectrum. Drink by 2027.
