2018 Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico

Antinori’s Peppoli was first made in 1985 and year in year out proves to be a reliable, great value Chianti Classico. Produced from predominately Sangiovese grapes, the wine was aged for approximately 9 months in large Slavonian oak casks with a small parcel in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of fruit.

A delightful Chianti Classico.

Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. A lovely array of red to dark currant and red cherry scents blossom out of the glass mixing with dusty cedar, tobacco, dried herbs and spicy leather along the way. Delicious spicy red to dark currant and red cherry fruits decorate the smooth, supple mid palate with an underbelly of earthy tobacco characters, cedar and dried herbs. Slightly dryish finish with well integrated fine grained tannins, a balanced freshness and very savoury aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
