2018 Ashbrook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Sourced from 40 plus year old vines this Cabernet was blended with small quantities of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Merlot with aging taking place in French oak barriques for a period of 12 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Nosing offers up a combination of red to black currant and mulberry scents which have a cigar box overlay. Dried herb and spice notes are also evident. Medium bodied the palate displays red to black currant fruit over a back ground of mulberry, vanillin cedar, tobacco, dusty earth and spicy bay leaf. Elegant mouthfeel with fine grained tannins and a refined mid length conclusion.
