2018 Chateau Durand Laplagne Les Terres Rouges

Dense inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Ripe blackcurrant scents jump out of the glass followed by liquorice, vanillin cedar, scorched earth and spice. Medium to full in body ripe red to blackcurrant fruits show ample richness on the palate yet are still some what restrained by a sturdy tannin structure which lends some firmness to the finish. Graphite like mouthfeel with spicy vanillin cedar, earth and graphite like characters in the background. Tighter than the 2016 with a taut medium length finish.

Full-bodied, rich and decadently fruited in the mouth, it has firm, plush tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
