2018 Craggy Range Te Muna Road Vineyard Pinot Noir
Twenty five percent whole bunch fruit was included with maturation taking in French oak barriques (22% new) for a period of 9 months. Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a semi translucent dark red hue. Filling the nostrils are intense spicy dark cherry, plum and strawberry aromas which are interwoven with anise, forest floor and dried herb notes. Generous dark cherry, plum and anise flavours have a fleshy textural feel with notions of earth, spicy cedar and infusions of fresh herbs lying underneath. Nicely balanced fresh acidity combines with a refined tannin profile. Finishes with a savoury aftertaste that has a sense of elegance to it.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews….
Attractive red-cherry, pot-pourri and rose aromas with gingerbread, too. The palate has a supple, juicy red-cherry core with a smooth-honed, long and focused finish. Upbeat. Drink now. Screw cap.
