2018 Dalrymple Sauvignon Blanc
Fruit for the 2018 Dalrymple Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from three vineyard sites in Tasmania. Two were in Coal River valley, with the third from the Dalrymple Home block in Pipers River. The Coal River sites produce fruit with slightly more tropical flavours but fine bright acidity, whilst the estate block has slightly greener flavours and firm acidity to provide further contrast and complexity.
A great juxtaposition of Sauvignon Blanc’s riper tropical fruit flavours and it’s greener more herbaceous characters.
Brilliant water like colour with a greenish tinged outskirts. Jumping out of the glass are potent aromas of passionfruit intermeshed with ripe gooseberries and lime followed by some herbaceous asparagus like characters and grassy notes. Mouth watering flavours of passionfruit, ripe gooseberries and lime fill the mouth with an enhanced textural feel from lees stirring. Underlying green apple and subtle herbaceous grassy elements ensue. Finishes dry and minerally with crisp acidity and a long powerful aftertaste. An intensely flavoured, mouth watering Sauvignon Blanc perfect for Summer.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
