2018 Duke’s The Morrissey Cabernet Shiraz
Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Wonderful nose with pronounced blackcurrant, violet and subtle red liquorice scents drifting from the glass closely followed by cedary tobacco notes, earth, hints of bay leaf and spice. Exceptionally refined and polished, the mid weighted palate is all class. Silky flavours of red to black currant, red liquorice and plum overlay a dusty vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth and spicy bay leaf back drop. Superb tannin integration and depth concluding long, deeply fruited and elegant.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.8%
Other Reviews….
An estate blend of cabernet and shiraz. There's nothing that the human combination of Duke Ranson in and around the vineyard and the skills of winemaker Robert Diletti can't achieve. The breathless flavours, structure and texture of this striking blend are, quite simply, superb. Glistening black cherries, satsuma plum and finely wrought tannins are all on parade. Drink by 2043.
