2018 Jasper Hill Georgia's Paddock Shiraz
Black as night featuring an impenetrable core and a very deep dark red black hue. Potent ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromas overlay toasty vanillin oak, hints of dark chocolate, earth and spicy pepper. Bold and lavish the palate features a dynamic core of rich blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit which has a dense gutsy feel. Vanillin oak, traces of fennel, subtle scorched earth and spice sit comfortably beneath. Ripe chewy tannins provide ample structure. Magnificent concentration and power concluding with a very long opulently textured aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 15.5%
Other Reviews....
Deep crimson-purple; a full-bodied version by Jasper Hill, with blackberry, plum and spicy notes. While it is large, it is balanced and has ample tannins for the long term. Drink by 2038.
