2018 Masso Antico Primitivo

For the second year running this wine has been rated 99 points by Italian wine critic Luca Maroni. Dense black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Nosing offers up aromas of jammy black plum, liquorice and tar followed by vanillin oak, dried herbs and spice. Ripe, jammy flavours of black plum, luscious black cherries and liquorice fill the mouth underscored by earthy tar like characters, vanillin oak and spicy dried herbs. Lightly chewy tannins with a jammy medium length aftertaste that sees the appearance of some prune like characters.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
