2018 Xanadu Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec matured for 14 months in French oak of which 40% was new. Magnificent inky black colour with a deep bright dark red black hue. The youthful nose offers up top notes of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice with cedary tobacco characters, mulberry, bay leaf and spice then falling in. Medium to full bodied, rich blackcurrant fruit dominates over back ground elements of mulberry, cedary tobacco characters, bay leaf and spicy black olive. Sturdy but fine grained tannins provide great structure. Finishes with excellent depth and refinement along with plenty of freshness on the long chalk tinged aftertaste.
