2018 Yalumba Hand Picked Shiraz Viognier

A blend of 99% Shiraz and 1% Viognier with 20% whole bunch fermentation and maturation taking place in French oak hogsheads 26% of which were new for a period of 14 months. Deep black dark purple core with a dark purple hue. Aromas of dark plum and liquorice intermix with hints of dried apricot, vanillin cedar and spicy pepper. Mid weighted and quite elegant, savoury red plum and red liquorice fruits are intermeshed with vanillin cedar, light earth and spice. Fresh acidity and slightly grainy tannins lead into a refined and energetic mid length finish.
