Antinori’s Peppoli was first made in 1985 and year in year out proves to be a reliable, great value Chianti Classico. Produced from predominately Sangiovese grapes, the wine was aged for approximately 9 months in large Slavonian oak casks with a small parcel in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of fruit.
Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Fresh herb laced aromatics of red currants and red cherries are trailed by earthy cedar, tobacco and spice notes. Generously fruited yet also elegant the palate is layered with delicious red cherry and red currant flavours. Infusions of fresh herbs, earthy tobacco characters and spicy cedar chime in on the back half for additional interest. Polished tannins with fresh acidity lending energy to the savoury red fruited aftertaste.
