2019 Buller Wines Calliope Shiraz

Sweetly fruited, plump and heavy.

Aged in American oak hogsheads for 2 years. Pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Engulfing the nostrils are aromas of plum pudding, liquorice and ripe black cherry which are intermeshed with vanillin oak, hints of scorched earth and spice. Coating the bold palate is a thick layer of plum pudding, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Sweet vanillin oak and subtle spicy dried fruit elements linger underneath. Plump and heavy it has velvet smooth tannins and a long, sweet fruited conclusion.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
