2019 Clos Clare Watervale Riesling

Third generation winemakers Tom and Sam Barry of Jim Barry fame run the Clos Clare operation. This is their twelfth vintage from Clos Clare's Riesling patch of 49 year old dry grown vines which adjoins the historic Jim Barry 'Florita' vineyard in Watervale.

Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge to the outskirts. Intense lemon, lime and green apple aromatics jump out of the glass chased by chalky talc and orange rind notes. Focused, pure tasting lemon and lime flavours are carried by elements of orange rind, subtle wet steel and a flinty minerality. Finishes dry with fresh crunchy acidity, magnificent length and a long mouth watering aftertaste.
Drink now or cellar 6-8 years.
