2019 Domaine Barmes-Buecher Steingrubler Riesling Grand Cru
Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Intense lime, red apple and pear scents intermingle with hints of honeysuckle, kerosene and wet slate. Rich pear, lime and red apple fruits carry plenty of textural volume which is contrasted against racy acidity. Notions of honeysuckle, lemon and wet slate line the back half. Finishes dry, very fresh, long and minerally.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews….
Light-medium yellow colour; some wild ferment edginess and lift on the nose coupled with candied citrus peel and fruit compote aromas. The wine is bright and lively in the mouth, with a richness and range of flavours that must reflect the way the wine was vinified and matured. It takes riesling to a different place than simple varietal fruit. The depth of flavour is special, the finish lingers on and on, and the wine is tremendously seamless and harmonious, acidity definitely there but not strongly felt. A very complex multi-faceted riesling that is tremendously satisfying to taste.|
