2019 Domaine Charles Audoin Fixin Le Rozier
Domaine Charles Audoin was formed in 1972 by Charles and his oenologist wife Marie-Francoise, starting with three hectares in Marsannay. Their holding has now grown to around 14 hectares that captures some of the best parcels in Marsannay. Their son Cyril joined his father in 2000, and is now in charge of both vineyard and winemaking activities for the Domaine. Cyril is increasingly focused on vineyard health, to deliver wines with pure varietal expression and a sense of place. They are among the most serious wines from the area, and while juicy and approachable young, have the capacity to age gracefully for many years.
Other Reviews....
A really sophisticated wine for this appellation, which is often associated with robust and rustic wines. Full forest berries, generous body and fine tannins, with plenty of wet-earth minerality that drives the very long, velvety finish.

Aromas of raspberries, cassis, rose petals and coniferous forest floor introduce the 2019 Fixin Le Rozier, a medium to full-bodied, bright and perfumed wine that's fine-boned and mineral, with elegantly chalky tannins and tangy acids. It's a lovely example of the appellation.

A cooler and more elegant nose offers up notes of earth and herbal tea on the red cherry, raspberry and soft sauvage nuances. There is very solid volume to the well-defined medium weight flavors that are notably more mineral-driven on the mildly chalky, austere and nicely long finish that is actually fairly refined. Drink 2024+.
