2019 Domaine de Montille Puligny-Montrachet Le Cailleret Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
Here too there is enough reduction to push the underlying fruit to the background. The super-sleek and almost painfully intense flavors brim with both minerality and dry extract that coats the palate on the classy, balanced and powerful finale. Excellent. Drink 2029+.

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru is more backward and reticent compared to the Folatières at the moment. Matured in 30% new oak, but I agreed with winemaker Brian Sieve that the wood is barely noticeable. The palate is well balanced with very subtle tropical notes of mango and passion fruit on the entry, dovetailing into more citric notes toward the tensile finish. Great potential. This should be superb once in bottle. Drink 2024-2042.

Fresh lemon colour. This wine is in its classic pure white fruit. Waves of flavour, offering both elegance as well as weight, a tiny bit richer at the back, but this cannot hold back the Cailleretishness of it. Superb length.
