2019 Domaine Roche La Bousquette Cairanne
A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Carignan sourced from the oldest vines on the estate and matured for 18 months. Dense inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Potent black cherry, liquorice and black raspberry scents engulf the olfactory senses and are complimented by scorched earth, dried herb and peppered meat notes. Exceptionally rich, large scaled and lavish, the palate is drenched with cascading waves of black fruit lead by black cherry, black raspberry and liquorice. Ripe chewy tannins provide muscle and structure with scorched earth, herbs du Provence and peppered meat nuances tailing off onto the back half. Despite its sheer size and off the charts level of intensity the long finish still manages to show a sense of freshness.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 15.5%
Other Reviews….
A step up, with more elegance and finesse, the 2019 Cairanne La Bousquette (80/20 Grenache and Carignan) offers up a vivid purple hue as well as full-bodied aromas and flavors of red and blue fruits, lavender, and garrigue. I love its balance, and it has ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. Don’t miss it!
