Planted in the upper Yarra Valley on a dramatic slope which allows for a cooler and extended growing season, the Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir is regularly one of the highlights of Giant Steps single vineyard releases. Maturation took place in a mix of 25% new French oak and 75% older oak barriques for a period of 8 months.

Semi translucent bright dark red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Perfumed aromatics of violets, ripe cherries, strawberries and subtle clove sail from the glass followed by forest floor, a light meatiness and spicy cedar. Light in body yet supple in its feel and boasting a terrific power wave of flavour, the palate is caressed with delicious ripe red to dark cherry, strawberry and subtle raspberry fruits. Also evident are complexing elements of forest floor, fresh herb infusions and lightly toasted spicy cedar. Beautifully polished tannins and bright acidity framing a very long and silky conclusion.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%
