2019 Marchand & Burch Mount Barker Chardonnay

Bright pale straw colour with a greenish tint to the outskirts and a watery hue. Intense white peach, ripe nectarine, honeycomb and crème brulee scents bound from the glass with spicy nougat and cashew notes also evident. Rich and lusciously textured the palate features a concentrated flavour profile of fleshy white peach, nectarine and dried honey over crème brulee, cashew, nougat and spice. Finishes fresh with a powerful, gently creamed aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Aromas of curry leaf, struck match and yellow peach to start, following through on the palate. The edges of the fruit have a creamy underside, characterised by crushed cashew and white spice. Long and rich, this has quenching acid (no doubt from the elevated vineyards from which this fruit was sourced) and long, unfurling flavours to close. Star anise and wafts of fennel flower. Drink by 2036.
