2019 TarraWarra Estate Reserve Chardonnay
Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and pear intermix with bees wax, traces of lemon butter and spicy almond. Round and creamy in the mouth the palate features pear, nectarine, bees wax and lemon butter flavours over a back drop of subtle cashew and spice. Finishes with a lick of brisk acidity and a nicely fleshed mid length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews….
It's flavoursome, layered and complex, yet it's not too much of a good thing. Fine acidity seems to hold everything in place – the white nectarine, lemon zest and creamy leesy richness across the palate, and the oak just so, adding to its savoury tones. The flavours linger and it's moreish. Drink by 2029.
