2019 Tenuta Ulisse Amaranta di Ulisse Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

For the sixth or seventh year in a row… we’ve lost count… this wine has yet again received a 99 point rating from Italian wine critic Luca Maroni.

Dense black as night core with a bright dark purple hue. Aromas of black plum, liquorice and black cherry have a distinct toasty vanillin oak overlay with some earth and spicy cinnamon notes also evident. Rich black plum and liquorice fruits laced with cinnamon spice are overwhelmed by toasty vanillin oak on the back half. Firmish tannins provide a chewy mouthfeel. Lingering toasty vanillin oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
