2020 Amelia Park Cabernet Merlot

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with portions of Malbec and Petit Verdot adding complexity. Maturation took place in French oak for a period of 12 months. 2020 was a compressed and early vintage which combined with small yields resulted in some outstanding wines.
Dense pitch black core with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Alluring blackcurrant and mulberry scents infused with a mix of bay leaf and black olives are followed by dusty vanillin cedar and spice notes. Rich blackcurrant, subtle liquorice and mulberry fruits decorate the mid weighted palate underscored by spicy vanillin cedar, subtle tobacco and infusions of bay leaf. Generous yet refined in its feel with a beautifully balanced tannin structure and long conclusion.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
