2020 Bellebonne Vintage Rose

Made from Pinot Noir this sparkling rose pours with a buoyant mousse and a salmon pink tinged base that has a steady stream of tiny bubbles flowing through it. Aromas of winter strawberry and peach are interwoven with baked bread, yeast lees and raspberry notes. Tense and vividly sculptured by racy chalk tinged acidity, flavours of winter strawberries, red cherries and citrus over shadow oyster shell and mineral undertones. Finishes very dry, crisp and elegant.

Pipers River pinot noir from four rows of vines, fermented in eight-year-old barrels with 100% mlf. Early picked for the aromatic purity it provides, and it really shows. A beautiful salmon hue with a fine energetic bead and mousse, stunning aromatics of redcurrant, wild strawberries, red apple and raspberry with notes of mushroom broth, fresh pastry, crushed river stone and light creamy notes. Super savoury and pure, gentle tannin texture from the barrel ferment and a long, harmonious finish. Gorgeous drinking. Drink by 2033.
