2020 Chateau Cambon La Pelouse

A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Red to black currant aromas are intermeshed with scorched earth, dusty cedar and hints of spicy black olives. Generous ripe blackcurrant and mulberry fruits carry ample richness across the mid weighted palate with vanillin cedar, dusty earth, black olive and spicy tobacco characters lying underneath. Fine grained yet sturdy tannin structure. Refined medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Attractive cherry red, this has cedar edging, toasty oak with attractive raspberry and redcurrant through the mid palate. Enjoyable but doesn't quite maintain the momentum. Now owned by Treasury Wine Estates.

Toasted spices, crushed walnuts, and tar with ripe dark fruits. Medium-bodied, firm and chewy with hints of bitter spices to close. Flavorful finish. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Try after 2024.
