2020 Chateau de la Greffiere Saint-Amour

Since 1924 four successive generations of Greuzard family have made wine at Chateau de la Greffiere. This Gamay is sourced from the Saint-Amour appellation of Beaujolais with vines having an average age of 30 years. Deep dark red colour with black shaded edges and a light red to red hue. Perfumed scents of violets, red cherries and strawberries infused with subtle clove blossom from the glass followed by some earthy incense like notes and spice. Light in body and carrying an air of freshness, delicious sour to red cherry and strawberry fruits supplely decorate the palate. Lively acidity with hints of clove, earthy incense and spice drifting through the back half. Polished tannins with an elegant, savoury finish.
