2020 Chateau Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Ebenezer District Shiraz
Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated aniseed and dark plum scents are followed by toasty vanillin oak, leather and pepper notes. Rich, fleshy dark plum and liquorice fruits carry medium body weight across the slippery textured palate. Polished tannins with vanillin oak, scorched earth and spicy mocha characters lying underneath. Finishes bright and fresh with a lush medium length conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews…….
Shiraz sourced from the famous northern Barossa parish of Ebenezer; basket pressed and aged in oak for 18 months. Deep ruby in the glass with characters of blackberry, black cherry and dark plum cut with baking spices, dark chocolate, ironstone, licorice and earth. Fine, chocolaty tannins provide support and there’s a lovely balance and savoury fruit depth to its form. Finishes long and true to its source. Drink by 2030.
