2020 Domaine Barmes-Buecher 7 Grains
A blend of 7 different grape varieties primarily composed of Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc aged for 10 months on lees.
Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Exotic rosewater, lychee, ripe pear and musk aromas leap out of the glass followed by some Turkish delight and ginger spice notes. Good opening textural volume with rich pear, lychee, musk and lime flavours driving the palate. Finishes dry and tangy with mouth watering acidity enlivening the back half. Some fresh ginger and wet slate characters linger through what is an energised conclusion.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

30% Riesling, 25% Gewurztraminer, 16% Pinot Gris, 10% Pinot Auxerrois, 9% Pinot Blanc, 7 % Pinot Noir, 3 % Muscat Ottonel.
Rose water perfume, ginger, lime, sea spray, pear – all the things. Fruit, green mango and spice, fine chalky texture, bright acidity, a ginger and lemon/orange tang, with a fresh finish of good length. Excellent. Fun! Drink 2022-2027.
