Other Reviews....
A ripe and naturally exotic nose features notes of Asian-style tea, anise, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The relatively generously proportioned medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the very dry and youthfully austere finish that also possesses a touch of bitter citrus character. Lovely juice and this is really quite classy. Drink from 2028+.

The 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières wafts from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, crisp Anjou pear, hazelnuts, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit, terrific concentration, bright acids and a long, saline finish.

The 2020 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has just a touch of reduction on the nose, but there is clearly good fruit concentration here, a light waxy aromas emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a honeyed texture, lightly spiced, riper than the Charmes but without quite the same delineation. Drink 2024-2038.

Here is a full-bodied and rich but not massive Meursault that will please fans of this appellation and regular wine-drinkers alike! Plenty of ripe citrus, particularly orange, with a touch of melted butter and grapefruit peel (the zest and pith) on the ample palate, with a touch of fresh nuts at the long, creamy finish. Just enough acidity to keep all this right on track. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Fine lemon and lime colour, with a detailed elegant bouquet and a sense of class all the way through to a slightly richer bouquet. The Bouchard 2020 Genevrières certainly has the detail, with a mix of white fruits, a little apple and also some citrus. A fine Genevrières for the medium term.

Bouchard is the owner of two parcels of Genevrières that total 2.65 ha: 1.65ha on the thin soils of the steeper part of the slope that gives a more mineral result, and another hectare below that in deeper soils. The combination produces a classic Meursault with a ripe apple fruit, notes of butter and hazelnut, and a rich, dense structure but always (even in 2020) a pleasantly saline minerality. Drink 2023 - 2040.
