2020 Domaine Faiveley Echezeaux En Orveaux Grand Cru
Other Reviews....
Moderate wood influence frames the perfumed and elegant aromas of black cherry, hoisin, violet, lavender and exotic tea. Here too there is excellent mid-palate density and volume to the rich and opulent medium weight plus flavors that retain reasonably good detail on the austere bitter cherry-inflected and slightly warm finale that goes on and on. This isn't quite as complex as the Clos de Vougeot but that may well change if given adequate time. Drink: 2032+.

The 2020 Echézeaux En Orveaux Grand Cru bursts with aromas of sweet red berries, rose petals, peonies, orange rind, plums and cinnamon. Medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a long, precise finish, this, too, is very promising.

The 2020 Echézeaux En Orveau Grand Cru (the lieu-dit has been stated on the label since 2018) has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet with dark cherries, wild strawberry and raspberry fruit, the marl terroir coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, the 20% whole bunch imparting a pleasing peppery note and energy on the finish. This should age with style. Drink: 2026-2050.

13.5% and some whole bunches to assist the freshness further. Medium crimson purple. There is a grace and elegance to this wine that sits well with Echezeaux and also with my palate. A really exciting dancing fruit. Loving this perfume. Continues through on the palate with a little bit of orange blossom and primary red fruit. Very stylish.

Aromatic and loaded with exotic spices, showing sandalwood, incense, strawberry, cherry and anise aromas and flavors. Simultaneously dense and elegant, with fine harmony and a terrific finish. Just keeps building and building on the palate to the long, kaleidoscopic conclusion. Best from 2026 through 2043.
