2020 Domaine Jean Tardy Nuits Saint Georges Au Bas De Combe Vieilles Vignes
Other Reviews....
Ripe and appealingly layered aromas are comprised by notes of poached plum, black cherry, pungent earth and a pretty array of spice wisps. The rich, solidly concentrated and equally attractively textured middle weight flavors are not quite as refined, but they do offer slightly better depth and persistence. This is an excellent Nuits villages and worth considering. Drink from 2030+.

One of the highlights of the range is the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe Vieilles Vignes, a lovely wine that mingles aromas of plums and cherries with hints of petals and sweet soil tones in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, layered and nicely concentrated, with bright acids and powdery tannins, it's well worth seeking out. The vines here were planted in 1937.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe Vieilles Vignes has a clean and precise bouquet with black cherries, crushed violet and boysenberry fruit. It takes time to unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannns, fine acidity, quite structured with a fresh, sappy finish. This should age nicely in bottle. Drink 2024-2040.

Dense purple black. This is usually the outstanding cuvée and once again the nose promises very well, Dark fruit, concentrated but not too ripe, a little bit of black cherry, then some ripe strawberry, easily enough fruit to surround the tannins, just the right acidity. More muscle than the Vosne, but very well balanced for a medium to long term future.
