2020 Domaine Roux Pere et Fils Bourgogne Cote d’Or

The Roux family has been producing wine in Saint-Aubin since 1885 and is now run by fifth generation Mathieu and Sébastien Roux. Focusing on Domaine wines (70 hectares), they are restoring forgotten lieux-dits and making new acquisitions in Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin.
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Pear, nectarine and dried honey aromas are intermeshed with toasty oak, nougat and gun flint notes. The palate is well endowed with rich peach, pear and dried honey flavours which generate a creamy textural feel. Nougat, cashew and spice characters extend through the back half. Measured acidity lending freshness to the nicely fleshed medium to long finish.
