A ripe but notably fresher nose speaks of dark cherry, raspberry, anise, violet and a hint of exotic tea. The much finer medium-bodied flavors are also more minerality driven while offers excellent length on the balanced finale. This too is very Chambollesque and a wine that should amply repay a decade plus of keeping. Drink from 2030+.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau 1er Cru has a very attractive floral bouquet with rose petal and iris scents, a touch of oyster shell merging with the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berries, a dash of white pepper and with a lively and supple, saline finish. Classic Chambolle-Musigny. Drink 2025-2038.

A rich imperial purple. The nose is very concentrated, firm and pure, not hot, on the cherry-raspberry cusp. Shows great potential. What a wealth of fruit is here, plump fresh raspberry with good acidity, this will take time to start displaying the detail of its wares. But all is there as it should be.
