2020 Fetherston Chardonnay
Brilliant very pale straw colour with gleaming tints of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and pear mix with biscuity oak, hints of bees wax and citrus. Combining elegance with freshness the light to mid weighted palate has a delicate flavour profile of pear, green apple and citrus over subtle biscuity oak and wet stone characters. Finishes dry with brisk acidity and a flinty aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.3%
Other Reviews….
A single-vineyard Upper Yarra chardonnay fermented in 2yo French oak puncheons. A really bright green gold. Opening with some reduction and matchstick, there are some lovely just-ripened nectarine and green-apple aromas too. Tightly wound and with good energy, this just needs another 6 months or so to really hit its straps. Drink by 2026.
