2020 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Grosses Gewachs
Other Reviews....
The 2020 Juffer GG is deep, intense, clear and elegant as well as spicy on the nose that reveals tropical fruit aromas along with some herb and yeasty notes. Crystalline, pure and salty on the palate, this is a rich and powerful, very intense and persistent Juffer that is spectacularly good this year. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2021. Drink 2026 - 2045.

The Mosel equivalent to Corton-Charlemagne in Burgundy. This is so focused and has so much primal energy. Very firm core of minerals, fine tannins and citrus-zest character on the medium body, which also power the very long, crisp finish that’s rather bold. Drink or hold.

The 2020er Juffer Riesling Trocken GG, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was fermented and aged in a mix of stainless-steel tank, Fuder, and large oak barrel. This cask sample offers a beautiful nose of anise, bergamot, grapefruit, herbs, and mint. The wine proves delicately juicy and fruity on the palate and leaves a smooth yet intense feel in the fully dry-tasting finish. It will however need a few years to fully integrate all its elements on the palate and reveal its potential. Drink 2025-2035.

Cool fragrance of peach with a pinch of clove. Grapefruit with a piquant bitter notion and the firm flesh of peach share the fruity honours on the palate and are backed by a solid mineral expression. Juicy and compact at the same time. Drink 2023 – 2032.
