2020 Joseph Faiveley Meursault Blagny Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
A deft touch of wood sets off aromas of cool citrus, Granny Smith apples, acacia blossom and a hint of tea. The wood shows up on the palate of the medium-bodied flavors that retain very good cut and punch on the lingering finish. Lovely and understated. Drink: 2026+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound
Aromas of pear, freshly baked bread, citrus oil and baking spices introduce the 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Blagny (Maison), a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine that's bright and chalky, concluding with a saline finish. It's a fine effort that should match the 2017 rendition.

The 2020 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru comes from purchased fruit. It has a slightly leesy bouquet with light pear and Granny Smith aromas, a touch of melon. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh, quite saline in the mouth with a touch of oak that will need 24-months to be subsumed. Drink: 2023-2030.

Pale lemon and lime colour, racy at first, more powerful fruit behind. Quite intense even from the start of the palate. Really quite full up front, then some more gracious fruit behind.
