2020 Lake Cooper Estate Rhapsody Reserve Heathcote Shiraz

Matured for 12 months in oak. Dense black dark purple colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Intense spicy plum and liquorice aromas intermix with earthy vanillin cedar, confectionary and light pepper notes. The mid weighted palate features dark plum, liquorice and fresh blueberry fruits over a subtle vanillin cedar and peppered earth back drop. Refined fleshy mouth feel with polished tannins finishing fresh with a peppery dark fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

90% destemmed, 10% whole-bunch fermentation. Matured 16 months in French (40% new) and American oak. The Lake Cooper Estate flagship sourced from the original 1998 vines needs a little time to open. It's still young, feeling its way as it works quite firmly in tannins, resolutely embraced in vanillin oak and oh, so gently releasing ripe black berries, damson plums, aniseed, dark chocolate and earthy ribbons of plushness. Will enjoy a wonderful life ahead. Drink by 2033.
