2020 Rippon Sauvignon Blanc

Forty percent of this wine was fermented in old French oak barrels. Bright pale straw colour with a watery hue. Pungent unripe passionfruit and grapefruit scents mix with distinct grassy asparagus notes. Intense herbaceous gooseberry, lemon and grapefruit flavours sit over a grassy asparagus, lime and fresh capsicum back drop. Finishes dry with crisp acidity and a long zesty aftertaste that has a distinct grassiness to it.

Oof. Lots on here. No prisoners in the perfume. Wasabi peas, jalapeno, lime, passionfruit – palalte and perfume. Flavoursome beasty! It’s got so much going on, crazy. Texture is great, chewy and chalky, races along at pace with refreshment factor on high. Quite an experience – an elevated example! Drink 2022-2025+
