2020 Saracco Pinot Nero
Fermented in stainless steel vats with aging taking place in a mix of small barrels and large casks for a period of 12-14 months. Dark red in colour with black shaded edges and a light red to red hue. Attractive violet scents are interwoven with dark to black cherries, anise, scorched earth and spicy Mediterranean herbs. Light in body, savoury red to dark cherry fruits are underpinned by fresh acidity with notions of earth, Mediterranean herbs and spice lingering through the back half. Fine grained tannins with a finish that’s spicy, elegant and earthy.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
Dark mossy berries and black tea with some mushrooms and a hint of pine cones and dark spices. Fresh yet supple on the medium-bodied palate with round and creamy tannins and medium acidity. A ripe but composed and delicious pinot with a mellow, silky mouthfeel and a pretty lengthy finish. Drink now.
