2020 Tornatore Etna Rosso

A delicious Sicilian blend with tangy acidity, a slightly rustic feel and long savoury red fruited finish.

Produced from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes aged for approximately 6 months in large wooden barrels. Semi translucent red to brick red colour with a light brick red hue. Fragrant dried cherry, rose petal, blood orange and raspberry scents infused with dried herbs, scorched earth and cinnamon spice drift through the nostrils. Complimenting delicious cherry, blood orange and raspberry fruits are infusions of dried Mediterranean herbs, volcanic rock and spicy earth. A gentle rustic feel is imparted by slightly tangy acidity and grainy tannins. Concludes long, fresh and savoury.

The 2020 Etna Rosso is remarkably pretty, leading off with dusty roses and dried strawberries complicated by suggestions of violet and lavender. This flows effortlessly across the palate with floral-laced red fruits enhanced by sour citrus and spice. The 2020 lingers incredibly long yet maintains a lovely inner freshness. The 2020 is exceptionally pure and impossible to resist. Drink 2024-2028.
