2021 Alpha Box & Dice Dead Winemakers Society Dolcetto

Alpha Box & Dice, located in McLaren Vale, is undertaking a "Wine Alphabet" project where each 'letter' represents a distinct winemaking venture, aiming to create a comprehensive collection of wines that showcase the various styles and grape varieties found in the well-known wine regions of South Australia, such as McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, and the Barossa Valley.
Sourced from the Yacca Paddock and Christmas Hill vineyards in Kuitpo, Adelaide Hills, this Dolcetto is planted at an elevation of 360m-375m. Picked early in the morning, 100% destemmed and wild-fermented for 3 weeks on skins before being basket pressed to seasoned barrels for 12 months of maturation and a further 12 months in bottle.
Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a vibrant dark red hue. Spicy dark cherry and liquorice aromas mix with hints of blueberry, earth and mint. Rich dark cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate flavours meld into a back drop of dusty earth, blueberry and spicy mint. Grainy, slightly chalky tannins with bright acidity and fresh juicy finish that has an energetic feel.
