2021 Arila Gardens Sand Garden Moppa Grenache

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Expressive red to dark raspberry and red liquorice scents are followed by some red plum, earth, subtle vanillin cedar and pepper notes. Rich fleshy red to dark raspberry, red liquorice and plum fruits overlay vanillin earth and delicate pepper characters. Finishes fresh with polished tannins and an elegant, vibrantly juicy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Moppa-sourced grenache from a 1900-planted vineyard. Some whole bunches, matured for 14 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads. Notes of raspberry, red plum, tobacco, gingerbread, grilled watermelon, cola and almond blossom. Calm, composed and savoury with a lovely fruit presence, briny, lipsmacking acid drive and a supple, kinetic structure that bodes well for the future. Western Barossa grenache on the charge. Drink by 2033.
