2021 Bleasdale Generations Malbec
Bleasdale has been growing Malbec since the late 1800’s and produced the regions first Malbec table wine in 1961. Today they are one of the leading exponents of this variety. The fruit for their Generations Malbec was sourced from two estate vineyard blocks and two specialist growers with maturation taking place in a mix of new (10%) and seasoned French oak puncheons.
A delicious spicy red to blue fruit laden Malbec that has a refined, juicy feel.
Dense inky black in colour with a vibrant dark purple hue. Perfumed like scents of violets, dark cherries, red currants, red liquorice and blueberries sail out of the glass with some earthy incense, fresh herb and spice notes also evident. Rich red to dark cherry, red currant, blueberry and red liquorice fruits are layered across the mid weighted palate with a refined, juicy feel. Lying underneath are earthy incense characters and infusions of fresh herbs. Finishes fresh and spicy with a polished yet sturdy tannin structure. Concludes with a long delicious spicy red to blue fruit laden aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
This won gold medals at the Melbourne and Perth Royal Wine Awards, and the Royal Adelaide and Hobart Wine Shows, all in 2022. It has all the attributes of its Second Innings sibling, but is even more intense, with terrific line and length.

James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion
It's like picking up a bunch of malbec grapes and chomping straight into them, such is the purity, the juiciness, the out-and-out grapeyness of this release. Earth, mulberry, loganberry and plum flavours swing persuasively through the palate here, the word authenticity whispered every step of the way. Stalk, violet and clove-like notes here are at one with the fruit. This wine seems unadorned in the best and most natural of ways. Drink by 2023.
