2021 Bouvet Saphir Brut Vintage
Outside of Champagne, Bouvet is the most awarded Sparkling Wine House in France, garnering praise from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Decanter Magazine and others. After many years of ownership by Champagne Taittinger, Bouvet Ladubay is once again fully owned by the Monmousseau family who have continuously run the business since their purchase in 1932. Bouvet Ladubay employs precisely the same wine making process as Grand Marque Champagne, delivering French sophistication at an everyday price.
Without a doubt one of the best value sparklings on the market today.
A blend of Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay that’s aged for a minimum of 18 months on lees. Pours with an exuberant frothy white mousse that slowly subsides to reveal a pale straw coloured base that’s finely threaded by a stream of tiny bubbles. Green to red apple and lime aromas flow through the nostrils with some sherbet, baked pear and yeast lees notes also evident. The stimulating palate is filled with pear, green apple and lime fruits which are shaped by racy chalk tinged acidity. Delicate quince and bready like characters lie underneath. Light, airy feel finishing dry, vivid and highly refreshing.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 12.5%
